Housing & Community Development
Our Housing & Community Development pillar serves individuals and families experiencing housing instability, homelessness, unsafe or inadequate housing, poverty, or other barriers that prevent them from establishing stable and sustainable living environments. The Foundation recognizes that safe and affordable housing is a fundamental component of individual and family stability. Without stable housing, individuals may experience increased challenges related to employment, education, health, behavioral health, family functioning, and overall quality of life.
Through this pillar, the Foundation will support initiatives that promote housing stability, access to affordable housing, homelessness prevention, transitional support, and community revitalization. Programs may include housing navigation, resource coordination, supportive services, landlord and community partnerships, housing education, financial literacy, tenant education, and connections to employment, healthcare, behavioral health, and other essential resources. The Foundation will seek to address not only the immediate housing need but also the underlying barriers that may contribute to housing instability.
Community development efforts will extend beyond individual housing assistance to strengthen the neighborhoods in which people live. The Foundation will pursue partnerships and initiatives that encourage safe, healthy, economically sustainable, and connected communities. This may include neighborhood improvement initiatives, community engagement activities, resource development, revitalization partnerships, and efforts designed to increase access to services and opportunities within underserved communities.
The intended outcomes include increased housing stability, reduced homelessness and housing insecurity, improved access to supportive resources, stronger household financial stability, and healthier neighborhoods. The Foundation's long-term goal is to help individuals and families move from housing instability toward self-sufficiency while contributing to the development of communities where residents can live safely, establish roots, access opportunities, and build a stronger future.
