Community Health & Wellness

Our Community Health & Wellness pillar serves individuals, families, seniors, and communities that experience barriers to maintaining healthy lifestyles and accessing preventive health resources. The Foundation recognizes that health is influenced by more than medical care; factors such as nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, social connection, access to resources, and the environment in which people live all contribute to overall well-being. This pillar will prioritize communities where residents may experience disparities in health outcomes or limited access to wellness opportunities.

The Foundation will provide and support programs that promote healthy living, preventive care, physical wellness, emotional wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices. Initiatives may include health education workshops, wellness screenings, nutrition education, physical activity programs, health fairs, chronic disease prevention initiatives, stress-management programs, and connections to healthcare and community resources. The Foundation will work collaboratively with healthcare organizations, community providers, schools, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders to expand the reach and effectiveness of these efforts.

A significant component of this pillar will be empowering individuals to take an active role in managing their health. Rather than simply addressing illness after it occurs, the Foundation will emphasize prevention, education, early intervention, and sustainable lifestyle changes. Consumers will be provided with practical information and resources that can help them make informed decisions about their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

The intended outcomes include increased health literacy, improved access to preventive health resources, healthier lifestyle choices, increased participation in wellness activities, and improved overall community health. Over time, the Foundation seeks to help reduce preventable health disparities and create communities where individuals and families have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities necessary to live healthier and more productive lives.
